Large Liebherr order for Kuwait
Liebherr Container Cranes has secured a large order for the supply of seven ship-to-shore (STS) container cranes and 20 rubber-tyred gantry units (RTGs) for the Port of Shuaiba, Kuwait.
The contract was signed with Alghanim Specialities Co, the main contractor for the project and responsible for the procurement of the equipment as well as civil and electrical works at Shuaiba.
The RTGs are of a 16 wheel configuration, stack one over four containers high and span six containers plus a truck lane.
Further to this, Liebherr has also recently secured an order for the supply of two STS container cranes to TCP Paranagua. These cranes, which will be the first Liebherr STS cranes to be supplied to Brazil, will be delivered in the first quarter of 2012.
