LASE launches AGV positioning system

LASE has launched a new automatic vehicle positioning application to handle the positioning of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) in up to three lanes sequentially.

The LaseAVP (Automatic Positioning Vehicle) aims to provide safer and more efficient container operations in ports and terminals.

It includes a 3D laser scanner from the LASE 3000D-C2-11x which is mounted at the portal girder centrally about the lanes and can detect an AGV in a specific lane.

The system will then receive the position information by the crane PLC in order to calculate the distance to the crane centre.

A 3D scan over the respective lanes can allow the alignment of the crane and the spreader to the AGV position correctly.

The LaseAVP can position AGVs for all common container types and is also applicable for single or double spreader operations.
