Liebherr orders flood in

Liebherr Maritime Cranes has seen a flood of orders, including what it calls an “important order” for its mobile harbour crane (LHM) range from a purchasing association of Algerian port operators.

The association consists of seven Algerian port companies, which have ordered 20 LHMs. They will be delivered to various destinations along the Algerian coast, including Algiers, Annaba, Béjaia, Ghazaouet, Mostaganem, Oran and Skikda.

The preferred choice of crane is the LHM 280 model, of which 11 will be delivered, while two ports will add more capacity with Liebherr’s newest model, LHM 420.

Matthias Mungenast, sales director, Liebherr mobile harbour cranes, said: “We succeeded in a number of comprehensive tenders in the past, but this order is really unique. It underlines the current market situation, which is treating us very well. We look forward to a great 2014.”
