Lightweight ELME spreader brings benefits

The Swedish company’s New Generation telescopic top lift product is designed for handling laden containers weighing up to 45 tonnes and for mounting on reachstackers.

The spreader’s design incorporates a lighter spreader with boosted life expectancy for structural components, improved durability, and an optimised hydraulic system. The lowered weight has also allowed for improvements on the reachstacker design, ELME said.

The 817 INNOVATION comes with hardened, quick exchange pendular twistlocks that are hydraulically activated, with mechanical interlocking. Additionally, the ELME Neuron CAN bus system constantly monitors the spreader’s state, and indicator lights advise operators when the spreader is correctly seated, locked or unlocked.
