Liverpool installs ABB simulator
A state-of-the-art ‘virtual’ training simulator has been installed at the UK Port of Liverpool to prepare operators for the arrival of the five of the world’s largest cranes later this year.
Liverpool owner Peel Ports’ has invested over £500,000 in developing the ABB-designed simulator and associated software.
The simulator reproduces the equipment layout and behavioural movement of the ZPMC STS and semi-automated cantilever rail mounted gantry cranes.
