Liverpool to outsource maintenance
The Port of Liverpool in the UK has taken the step of handing over maintenance to an external engineering company.
Briggs Equipment will be responsible for the port’s asset base with the Port’s underlying objective being to deliver the most reliable and responsive service of any UK port.
This includes a set target to provide over 98% equipment availability, when required by operations, supported by both statutory and PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) programmes.
Examples of the equipment which will be handled within the contract are ship-to-shore container cranes, quayside cranes, straddle carriers, harbour mobile cranes and other mobile equipment supporting the port’s multi terminal operations.
