New additions and new orders for Kalmar

The new Gloria Reachstacker DRG100 has been specifically designed for empty and semi-laden container handling. It is available in two models, one of which, the DRG100-S8, has the capacity to stack containers 8 high in the second row – an option which Kalmar says it alone is able to offer at present.

Stefan Johansson, Kalmar, said: “The DRG100 adds another dimension to empty container handling. Containers can now be transported at full width, turned 45 degrees or lengthwise at 90 degrees, making it possible to deliver end on into and through low workshop doors, port sheds and other confined spaces.”

These new reachstackers have highly efficient Volvo diesel engines that comply with EU Stage 3A and 4 emissions, which help provide optimum power while keeping fuel costs to a minimum. The operator is able to select from three ECO Drive Modes which match the performance of the machine to the type of application and contribute up to a 20% fuel saving.

Kalmar has also launched a new heavy forklift truck, the Kalmar DCG180-330 in the 18 to 33 tonne capacity sector. Compared to its predecessor, the new model with Cummins and Volvo engines consumes up to 15% less fuel in standard configuration. By using the economy mode an additional 15% of fuel savings can be reached.

The port equipment expert has started the year in fine form and has recently secured €40m in orders for 512 Kalmar Ottawa T2 terminal tractors in North America.
