Ohios high tech intermodal terminal

CSX Intermodal Terminals has implemented a terminal operating system (TOS) at its new Northwest Ohio intermodal terminal (NWOH) that should lever extra value from its cutting-edge approach.

The new CSX facility has been hailed for its efficient green design, including electric cranes that lower emissions, optical scanners that reduce truck idle times, and automated car tracking technologies and remote switches that increase operational efficiency.

The TOS solution deployed at NWOH includes Tidework’s Intermodal Pro system, the Traffic Control equipment control module, and a new System Integration Module (SIM) which serves as a message broker, providing an efficient and straight-forward means to integrate Tideworks’ TOS with third-party technology.
