Portunus refurbishment gains

DP World Aden has appointed Portunus to undertake refurbishment of four RTG cranes.

Refurbished cranes offer greater dynamic performance and environmental benefits

Portunus’ refurbishment work included inspection, dismounting and disassembly of key components and necessary repairs, followed by the reconditioning and replacing of parts and the modifying and upgrading of systems and components.

Futher, PSA Mersin also contracted Portunus to carry out major refurbishment work on of seven of their Noell rubber-tired gantry cranes.

Onder Turker of Portunus points out that refurbished models offer greater dynamic performance, reliability and efficiency. Further, refurbishment “also helps ports meet environment policies for efficient fuel consumption, lower diesel engine fumes and emissions”.
