Raptor speeds up cycle

Fantuzzi’s Raptor Junior can handle one 40ft container or two 20ft containers, while Raptor Senior can handle two 40ft containers or four 20ft containers. Both can be driven by one operator.

These transporters, operating in conjunction with a new ground-based platform, (called an Automatic Reverse Interlock Frame), are designed to automatically fit or remove the twistlocks from the underside of the containers on the quayside, removing the need for manual intervention by a lasher.

Further, the Raptor automatically unloads and loads containers directly on to the platform and keeps them in the same position on the quay, thus speeding up operations as it allows the STS to operate with an automatic cycle itself.
