Testing times
Kalmar has begun testing terminal tractors with a custom-built dynamometer at its Tampere facility in Finland.
To simulate various working conditions, the dynamometer has adjustable rollers, loading systems and a tilting mechanism. It can test the engine, transmission, axles, and brakes as well as the lifting capacity, stability, various temperatures and axle loads. In addition, the hydraulic pressure, pneumatic pressure, and electrics are tested on-site.
Customers will have the ability to observe the tests as well as obtaining a report of results.
