Tyre-maker recycles its water
Two months of operation of water recycling and harvesting rainwater has allowed Goodyear South Africa to save 5.6m litres of water; enough to supply 180 homes for a month. The Uitenhage plant is finding a new use for wastewater from its boiler house, and saving steam condensate. The recovered water is redirected to plant toilets or used as makeup water for machinery cooling.
