Finland funds environmental upgrades
The Finnish Ministry of Transport and Communications has set aside €4.5m to help with costs related to sulphur scrubbers and the modification of fuel systems on ships.
In the third round of applications, four shipping companies applied concerning 10 vessels. The total amount applied for was €14.5m but after consideration, only €4.5m has been given out for “eligible aid”.
The funds have been distributed to Finnlines Oyj, Viking Line and NLC Ferry (Wasaline).
