Maersk calls for Benchmarking
Speaking at the recent Green Port Logistics Conference, Maersk Line’s General Manager of Terminal Strategy, Soren Thomsen, said a terminal’s environmental performance was viewed as a tie-breaker when selecting where to send ships.
“If conventional parameters, such as handling capacity, rates, productivity and intermodal connections, are the same between two terminal operators, then you start to look at environmental performance. We are being pushed on environmental performance, but it has to come at a good price”.
