New chairman for AIVP
The Members of AIVP elected Jean-Pierre Lecomte, to the Chairmanship of AIVP, at their most recent General Assembly in the Icelandic port city of Reykjavik.
Former President of the Port Authority of Le Havre (1998-2008), Mr. Lecomte succeeds M. Iñaki Azkuna, Lord Mayor of Bilbao (Spain) who headed the development of AIVP over the last four years. Among the future actions of the worldwide network of port cities, the next international Conference in Buenos Aires and Rosario, Argentina from 15 to 19 November 2010 will enable AIVP to assert their ambitions for renewed port-city dialogue.
