Capacity increases for eastern ports
Two south-east European ports are expanding their container operations based on 2008s rapid increases.
Luka Koper estimates they will achieve a yearly throughput of 400,000 teu by the end of 2008 in the Port of Koper, Slovenia, while Evyap Container Terminal, situated 70 km east of the Bosphorus on the Anatolian side of Istanbul is increasing its capacity to 615,000 teu.
Two Kalmar E-One+ RTG cranes are headed to the Port of Koper while four E-One+ RTGs will be going to the Evyap Port in Turkey.
