Commenting on the proposals, HPH’s UK md, Richard Pearson, said: “This development will enable Felixstowe to berth more of the latest generation of large container vessels simultaneously, securing our position as a major European hub, and ensuring that UK importers and exporters enjoy the full range of direct-call liner services.”

The port of Capodistria has inaugurated a refurbished coal and iron ore terminal, on which $32.7m has been spent. The so-called European Energy Terminal will be used to supply markets in Slovenia, Italy, Austria and Hungary.
