The Port of Marseilles Authority has authorised Cap Vracs, a building materials manufacturer, to proceed with the development of plans for a major new cement plant on a waterfront site covering 11.6 hectares in the Fos Industrial zone. Subject to planning approvals, a first phase, costing ?25m, is set to open in 2006, followed by a ?42m extension in 2009.
