Cork gets new security system

CEM Systems has supplied its AC2000 SE integrated security management system for installation at Cork. The contract was awarded by ADT Fire & Security and will be supported by an advanced CCTV system and intercom network, part of a major contract ADT has signed with the Port of Cork to provide an advanced integrated security system.

Ocean carriers, manufacturers, retailers and governments will be able to share reliable, real-time cargo shipment information worldwide.

CEM InfoProx and EtherProx intelligent card readers will play a pivotal role in securing the various areas of the port. The EtherProx reader connects directly to Ethernet providing an easy and cost effective way to connect remote buildings without the need to run dedicated serial cables or install intelligent control panels in the system design.

This was particularly useful to Cork as the estate has sites that are more than 10 miles apart. With an on-board database the CEM card readers provide intelligent decision-making at point of entry, even if host communication is not available the reader will act independently storing over 150,000 cardholder details and transactions.
