International Power has signed up with ABP to use the new £44.5m new coal facility currently being built at ABP’s Port of Immingham and to become operational in mid-2006. The terminal is an extension of ABP’s existing deep-water cargo berth, Humber International Terminal, and will be capable of handling up to 7.5 million tonnes of coal each year. It will be equipped with enclosed conveyors and modern dust-suppression systems.
