New deal at Fos Distriport

Half the available plots at Fos Distriport – the Port of Marseilles logistics zone being developed alongside the existing Fos container terminal – have now been taken following the sale of 9.5 hectares for the construction of a 47,000 square metre warehouse due to open in 2006.

Germany’s DVD Bank is also participating in the transaction in syndication.

The sale, to commercial property company NexityGeprim, means that 65 of the available 130 ha have been allocated for warehousing projects totalling 208,437 sq metres.

Meanwhile the port authority has also approved four new installations in the 73-hectare La Feuillane area of the Fos Industrial-Port Zone, with a concrete manufacturer, steel fabricator, metalwork specialist and civil engineering company joining a recent surge of demand triggered by the port’s expansion in the industrial, maritime and logistics sectors.
