ROTTERDAM THROUGHPUT UP
The Port of Rotterdam handled 186m tonnes of cargo in the first half of 2006, 1.1% more than in the first half of 2005.
The same study also concluded that it would be viable to build a new container terminal on the Trattaroli peninsular, which would be managed by the Contship Italia group.
Outgoing trade increased more sharply than incoming trade, at 2.6% and 0.7% respectively.
