Second place for Valencia

Valencia has consolidated its position as Spains second most important port, beaten only by Algeciras Bay. Figures recently released by the state-managed Puertos del Estado for the first 10 months of 2006, report a 13% rise in overall traffic to 38.98m tonnes. This compares with the 61.26m tonnes handled at Algeciras (+9.73%) and the 39.43m tonnes at Barcelona (+5.5%).
