Efficient technology key to Congress

Attendees of the first Congress event in the Americas will have the opportunity to explore the latest in sustainable development and environmental practice within sea ports, terminals and their associated logistics supply chains, as well as get the latest on current and forthcoming legislation.

Taking place in Baltimore from 16-18 May, the conference will be hosted by the Port of Baltimore’s Helen Delich Bentley, the Maryland Department of Transportation and the Maryland Department of the Environment.

Themes will include smarter ports, land redevelopment and the challenges of intermodal connections. Session formats will incorporate interactive presentations, discussion panels, case studies and networking opportunities.

The ‘Cruise’ element of the conference provides a platform for cruise terminal operators and other cruise stakeholders to share knowledge and discuss emerging environmental issues.

Baltimore was chosen for the first US conference as it has a multifaceted seaport with terminals dealing with automobiles, containers, farm and construction equipment, forest products, breakbulk cargo and cruise passengers.
