With ports under growing pressure to decarbonise operations, invest in new energy infrastructure and meet increasingly ambitious environmental targets, industry attention is turning to how these objectives can be delivered without compromising operational performance or commercial viability.
To explore these challenges, GreenPort Congress will host a free online session on 7 September from 15:00-15:45 BST, bringing together industry experts to discuss the practical realities of sustainable investment in the port sector.
The discussion will examine how ports are approaching major decisions around electrification, shore power, alternative fuel infrastructure and broader environmental initiatives at a time when both expectations and costs continue to rise. Speakers will consider how organisations can balance long-term sustainability ambitions with the need to maintain resilience, efficiency and business performance.
Key areas of focus will include infrastructure readiness and investment priorities, the evolving energy requirements of ports, the risks and opportunities associated with sustainability investments, and preparations for future fuels.
