Canadian cold ironing
The Canadian government is to go ahead with a new cold ironing initiative, following the successful completion of its C$3.8m Marine Shore Power programme in 2007-2012.
The new Shore Power Technology for Ports scheme will make available funding of C$27.2m to enable all Canadian ports to introduce shore power.
