FHWA Funding

The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has confirmed provision of US$7.1 million for port improvements in Louisiana. The Port of New Orleans will use this funding towards the purchase of new, all-electric heavy and light duty trucks to replace diesel vehicles currently in use, while also upgrading electrical infrastructure and evaluating new emissions-reducing equipment to improve air quality for communities surrounding ports.
