US forwarders prefer Canadian and Mexican ports

A recent study by the US Federal Maritime Commission has found that ports in Mexico and Canada are more attractive than those in the US.

Forwarders prefer ports in those two countries because costs are lower, risk is reduced because of the diversification, transit times are better and, above all, users are not forced to pay an additional cost towards the upkeep of the port, which they have to do in the US.
