US port congestion forum

The US Federal Maritime Commission is holding a public forum on tackling port congestion and all industry stakeholders, regulators and the general public are being urged to attend.

Among the topics up for discussion will be factors causing port congestion, truck turn times, impact on stakeholders, use of technology to reduce congestion and related fees and PierPass.

Federal Maritime Commission Chairman, Mario Cordero, will report back to the Commission in full regarding the issues raised at the forum.

The forum will take place on 15 September from 9.30am to 4.40pm at the Port of Los Angeles Administration Building, San Pedro, California.

Written comments are being accepted in advance of the forum and will be treated confidentially.
