Auckland Port holds surcharges
Ports of Auckland is to postpone its Fuel Adjustment Factor (FAF) surcharges until January 1 in recognition of the current challenging trading environment.
Rising fuel prices had triggered terminal handling surcharges of NZ$5 (US$4.3) per full container and NZ$2.50 (US$2.2) per transhipment leg, and Marine Services rates of NZ$75 (US$65.1) per vessel under 10,000 GT and NZ$150 (US$130.2) above 10,000 GT.
However, the port has committed to absorbing these increases until the end of the year unless the price rises significantly further in the interim.
