LPC adds inland resource

Lyttelton Port of Christchurch (LPC) has acquired 7.3 hectares of industrial land adjacent to its inland port operation, CityDepot.

Described as a “strategic investment”, the purchase is expected to eventually provide for a 70% increase on the current 7,000-container capacity of CityDepot, which is located six kilometres from the seaport in Woolston.

LPC is also about to complete an expansion of its seaport container terminal to increase capacity from 16 to 24 rail wagons, and by November complete a similar expansion at CityDepot.
