Northport eyes stranded NZ trade

In light of Tauranga’s resources being pushed to capacity by the Auckland dispute and Auckland’s footprint being hemmed by waterfront developments, Mr Brown said there is “land galore” for utilisation at Northport.

With the two neighbouring ports also holding significant shareholdings in Northport, which is majority-owned by the regional council, Mr Brown added: “I think the owners of these ports have to come together and look at the future.”
