Otago port restructure rejected

A Port Otago restructuring proposal has been strongly rejected by the Maritime Union of New Zealand (MUNZ) and the Rail and Maritime Transport Union. MUNZ national president Phil Adams says the proposal would reduce conditions of employment and health and safety or lead to redundancies. An existing agreement expires in July 2010.
