Oz port infrastructure left out in the cold
Port-related infrastructure has received only a moderate boost from the Australian Federal Government’s 2012-13 budget.
A total of A$95m (US$94.6m) has been already committed to the Townsville port access road which will be completed this year.
Likewise the new passing loop at Hexham, part of the Northern Sydney Freight Corridor, has a government contribution of A$26m (US$25.9m) and a sum of A$50m (US$49.8m) will go towards supporting Ichthys LNG project works in Darwin.
