A development application has been lodged to build an ore receival, storage and loadout facility at Port Pirie in South Australia.
WPG Resources’ subsidiary Spencer Gulf Ports has made the application for a facility capable of handling seven million tonnes per annum, which will facilitate the expansion of the Peculiar Knob iron ore deposit near Coober Pedy.
Further deposits nearby also have production potential. WPG intends to put the project into production later this year, with construction to be finished in 2011
