Bulk liquid firm invests in Liverpool terminal
Bulk liquid storage firm, UM Terminals has made a multi-million pound investment in one of its key strategic terminals.
The improvements at its Regent Road terminal in Liverpool, UK will help ensure its product expertise, bulk liquid storage capability, value-added services and sustainability credentials remain industry-leading, says the company.
“Regent Road is a key strategic terminal and this multi-million pound investment will ensure that it will continue to meet and exceed the expectations of existing and new customers,” said Phil McEvoy, managing director of UM Terminals.
“This significant investment at Regent Road covers four key bases – meeting the needs of our customers, including new ones we are onboarding, ensuring our capabilities are the best they can be, having the right capacity and meeting our sustainability obligations.”
The investment has seen a number of tanks upgraded, along with the introduction of dual dock loading at Huskisson Dock and Canada Dock, and industrial ground and water source heat pumps.
The investment has also helped UM Terminals expand its product range to include chemicals, industrial oils, vegetable oils, fertiliser, biofuels and biofuel feed stocks. The company is also transferring to low carbon tank heating technology as part of the wider group’s sustainability strategy.
The company has six further terminals located in Liverpool, Hull and Portbury. Value-added services include biofuel feedstock pre-treatment, blending, water dilution, product packing, HMRC-bonded warehouse and COMAH compliance.
