Konecranes expands capacity in Norway

With delivery scheduled for Q2 2024, the new Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Crane will help expand capacity and reduce carbon emissions.

This is the first crane for Tyrholm & Farstad’s new terminal, handling container and general cargo for the Møre og Romsdal region.

The Generation 6 Konecranes Gottwald ESP.6 Mobile Harbor Crane has a working radius of up to 49m and a maximum capacity of 125 tonnes to serve container ships up to Panamax class.

When connected to an external power supply, normal operation is fully electric. This is backed up by the Konecranes hybrid drive, which comprises a diesel engine paired with an ultracapacitor that can be recharged by energy recovered from lowering and braking motions.
