Konecranes unveils new synthetic rope hoist

With a lifting capacity of up to 20 tonnes, the Konecranes S-series rope hoist adapts to a range of girder configurations and features a low headroom option.

“In the S-series low headroom hoist, we have combined the best features of our previous rope hoist products and introduced new, exciting innovations,” said Jussi Luokomaa, product manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Konecranes.

“As a result, we have created a strong, durable, compact, high-tech and smart rope hoist that prioritises safety above all. The S-series low headroom hoist will be a market-leading product for years to come,” he said.

Konecranes says the new hoist is compact with stepless lifting powered by a load-dependent lifting motor. Integrated smart features include snag prevention, hook centring and follow me to help boost productivity whilst a new safety light illuminating the hoist at ground level enhances safety.

There is also a radio with an easy-to-read display indicating lifted loads, which smart feature is active, battery life and more.

Committed to sustainability

Konecranes says it has baked sustainability into the design with a significantly lighter hoist manufactured from fewer raw materials, thrust rocker which reduces steel use, and inverter lifting technology for optimised energy consumption.

The crane also comes with TRUCONNECT remote monitoring for real-time insights allowing optimal operational and maintenance planning.

The S-series is being deployed by a number of companies from disparate sectors including Dutch hydraulic engineering and steel construction firm, Hakkers; Hitachi Energy in the Czech Republic and LTC Group in the UAE.
