Liverpool dock undergoes major upgrade

The event marked a milestone in a shared vision to enhance Liverpool’s position as a key logistics hub while supporting job creation and sustainability in the maritime sector.

The newly-named MV Seraphine joins CLdN’s 30-strong RoRo fleet and is equipped with dual-fuel technology, capable of running on marine diesel or liquefied natural gas, including biomethane.

“We are proud to name the MV Seraphine in Liverpool,” said Florent Maes, chief executive of CLdN. “Our partnership with Peel Ports and investment in Brocklebank Dock reflect a shared commitment to infrastructure improvements and operational growth.”

The Brocklebank Dock redevelopment includes 90,000 sqm of surfacing, 900 trailer bays, enhanced cargo check-in and camera facilities, upgraded drainage, lighting and a new office block – all aimed at supporting larger, greener vessels.

“The MV Seraphine signals the importance of innovation, collaboration and sustainability in modern logistics,” said David Huck, chief operating officer at Peel Ports Group.

“The enhancements at Brocklebank Dock will future-proof operations, improve efficiency and support local employment.”

CLdN has recently expanded its Liverpool-Dublin service by 25%, operating 24 weekly sailings.

This long-term partnership also includes CLdN’s 2020 launch of the UK’s first triangle RoRo trade route linking Santander, Liverpool and Dublin, further strengthening UK-Europe freight connectivity.
