Peel Ports awards Finsa UK contract

The new facility, located at the Grandidges Quay terminal – Peel Ports’ newest development at the UK’s second-largest port – will begin construction later this year.

“Finsa UK has been a valued customer of Peel Ports for more than three decades, and we are delighted to see the next phase of their growth come to life with this transformative project at Grandidges Quay,” said Andrew Martin, group property development director at Peel Ports.

The contract for the design and construction of the new logistics space, which also includes a two-story office, has been awarded to construction firm Glencar. Once completed, the new facility will serve as the UK headquarters for Finsa UK, a subsidiary of the global Finsa Group.

“For more than 30 years, Birkenhead Port has been a key part of Finsa UK’s story,” said Raquel Carrillo, managing director at Finsa UK.

“Our new headquarters represents an exciting new chapter in our future.”

This development is expected to support Finsa UK’s continued business growth, while preserving local jobs and creating new indirect employment opportunities and apprenticeships.

The warehouse will also feature a spacious service yard and parking facilities to support operational needs.
