Rotterdam to host IHMA Congress 2026

The biennial event brings together harbour masters, maritime professionals and industry leaders from around the globe.

The 2026 Congress will revolve around the theme ‘Connecting Horizons – Building Future Resilient Ports Together’, emphasising the need for collaboration, innovation and sustainability in the face of growing global maritime challenges.

“We’re very much looking forward to the next IHMA Congress in Rotterdam,” said IHMA Congress chair Gary Wilson. “The theme promises to spark essential discussions.”

René de Vries, harbour master at the Port of Rotterdam Authority, added, “We are honoured to host this event. It’s an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas and explore new technologies shaping the future of our ports.”

Over three days, delegates will participate in keynote sessions, workshops, panel discussions and networking events, covering key topics such as emerging technologies, sustainability and port resilience. A standout feature will be the exclusive port tour on the final day, offering attendees a behind-the-scenes look at Europe’s largest port.

The Congress will also include the Gala Dinner and IHMA Awards Ceremony on 11 June, celebrating excellence across three categories, including safe, efficient and secure port, outstanding individual achievement and port operations photograph of the year.
