New CTG waste monitor
Chelsea Technologies Group (CTG) will be holding a workshop on 7 and 8 November 2012 to introduce its new UviLux Effluent Monitor, where delegates will have a chance to learn more about the product.
The new monitor measures levels of waste, Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD) and refined and crude hydrocarbons within natural water systems and water processing plants. The low cost, digital, in-situ monitor is much more efficient than current UV fluorometers.
Justin Dunning, sales manager, CTG, said to Greenport: “The Environment Agency (EA) has already used this system for their catchment walkovers, and will be procuring units based on its success. We are also in discussions with the EA and other groups to deploy these sensors in estuaries and coastal waters.”
Mr Dunning added: “Our focus up till now has been coastal monitoring requirements against the Bathing Waters Directive and the protection of recreational beaches.”
The UviLux monitor could also be used to monitor waste in ports and inland waterways where Sewage Tratement Works (STW) outflows are present.
The FastGuard multi wavelength fast repetition rate fluorometer and miniature Lux flurometers will also be on show for delegates. The FastGuard system can be used for water intake protection and monitoring of phytoplankton photosynthesis.
The Innovative fluorescence technique used to monitor effluent and related environmental parameters workshop will take place in Telford, UK.
