CM Labs unveils remote RTG training

CM Labs Simulations has unveiled its latest innovation – a high-fidelity remote operated station (ROS) rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) crane training system.

The training system combines Spohn + Burkhardt’s industry-standard ROS desk with CM Labs’ Intellia ROS RTG Training Pack. Designed for both experienced operators and newcomers, it addresses the steep learning curve involved in transitioning to remote operations.

“More and more our customers are requesting training solutions for remote port equipment operation,” said Devon Van de Kletersteeg, ports product growth manager at CM Labs.

“Our solution is built to support both seasoned professionals and new entrants.”

The ROS desk includes a multi-screen setup, ergonomic design and motorised height adjustments with memory settings, replicating the physical experience of a real port control station.

Meanwhile, the ROS RTG Training Pack delivers realistic camera-only operation, helping trainees adapt to limited visibility and manage simulated system faults.

The system also connects to CM Labs’ Intellia training management tools, allowing instructors to build custom scenarios, track trainee performance and export training data.

CM Labs says its latest innovation supports safer, smarter port operations, enabling remote readiness without disrupting real-world workflows.
