Largest Terberg Order
Moroccan port operator, Marsa Maroc, has placed an order for 106 Terberg latest generation electric terminal tractors. It represents the largest single order for Terberg EV terminal tractors, to date. The units will be built at Terberg’s plant in Malaysia before shipment to the new Nador West facility in Morocco that Marsa Maroc is developing in two partnerships with TIL (MSC) and CMA CGM. Terberg distributor, Spia Maroc, will supply and maintain the units.
Embotech Certified
Embotech has received the TÜV SÜD EC-Type Examination Certificate for its Autonomous Tractor Solution (ATS) and gained the CE marking. This means the equipment is now approved for autonomous operations and enables deployment of driverless tractors in gated industrial environments in Europe, including ports, OEM production plants, logistics hubs and distribution centres. The certification is recognised in the UK, and alignment with ISO 13849 supports future deployment potential across North America.
VITRONIC Takes ASE
VITRONIC, a global operating technology specialist in machine vision for traffic, tolling, and automation, has acquired the ASE portfolio as part of an asset deal. The deal comprises technologically leading OCR gate solutions for both rail and road traffic applications. This transaction reportedly allows VITRONIC to create the first fully integrated, end-to-end access solution covering all modes of transport across the entire logistics value chain.
Remote Evyap
DP World Evyap has received three new remote-controlled quay cranes at its Körfez terminal in Türkey. The new units will be operated remotely from modern control centres rather than on site and are equipped with advanced collision-avoidance sensors, while also supporting the operator’s desire to improve speed and efficiencies at the facility. The new cranes are expected to help raise terminal capacity to 800,000 TEU per annum.
Remote HPT
Three new remote-control cranes have arrived at Terminal D for Hutchison Ports Thailand (HPT). The Super post‑Panamax units take the total to 17 cranes at the 1700m facility and help to raise capacity to 3.5 million TEU per annum. HPT added seven remote-control yard cranes in Q4 2025. Overall the new equipment facilitates Terminal D simultaneously handling three Ultra Large Container Vessels (ULCV) and a supporting feeder vessel.
Remote APMT Suape
APM Terminals Crane & Engineering Services (CES) has confirmed that the first shipment of container handling equipment for APMT Suape left SANY Marine in Zhuhai in early January. The delivery includes two remote-controlled STS cranes, seven remote-controlled electric RTGs and supporting equipment for automated and remote control activities. This project marks the first collaboration between CES and SANY Marine, with CES providing complete oversight across all technical disciplines of mechanical, structural, electrical and automation.
HHLA Hybrids
HHLA Container Terminal Tollerort GmbH at the Port of Hamburg has confirmed a new order for eight hybrid Konecranes Noell NSC 644 EHY straddle carriers. The new machines are part of the operator’s strategy to reduce fuel consumption and tailpipe emissions, with the machines slated to enter service before the end of 2026. They are direct replacements for older diesel powered units that transport containers between the quay and yard, to/from landside truck and rail handling.
