PSA and YPICT forge strategic partnership
PSA Singapore and Hainan Harbor & Shipping International Port Co., operator of the Yangpu International Container Terminal (YPICT), have struck a deal to enhance port-to-port connectivity and develop advanced logistics solutions across South China and Southeast Asia.
The partnership unites PSA’s global transshipment capabilities with YPICT’s strategic position in Yangpu Port, part of China’s Hainan Free Trade Port initiative.
Together, the two port operators will explore joint operational initiatives to strengthen regional cargo flow, improve service and bolster supply chain resilience.
“In advancing our node-to-network strategy, we are pleased to partner with YPICT through this strategic collaboration,” said Nelson Quek, regional chief executive Southeast Asia of PSA International.
“By combining PSA’s extensive global network with YPICT’s pivotal location in South China, we are well-positioned to unlock new opportunities for trade flows and deliver greater value through enhanced service reliability and connectivity.”
Wang Ran, chair of Hainan Harbor & Shipping Holding Co., emphasised the long-term vision for Yangpu Port. “This MOU marks a significant step towards realising Yangpu Port’s ambition of becoming a premier gateway for Hainan and global trade,” he said.
“Through close collaboration with PSA, we aim to strengthen port connectivity and operational excellence between China and Southeast Asia.”
The deal aligns with regional trade growth objectives and is expected to play a key role in the long-term development of Hainan’s logistics and supply chain ecosystem.
