Four more organisations join Green Marine initiative

Réseau d’observation de mammifères is one of the latest to join the Us-Canada initiative aimed at implementing a marine industry environmental programme throughout North America.

The organisation is dedicated to the protection and conservation of cetaceans and seals, primarily in the St Lawrence estuary and gulf.

The International Ship Owners Alliance of Canada (IASC) also joined this month. ISAC’s role is to monitor relevant marine policy and legislative developments and represent its members’ interests before the federal and provincial governments of Canada as well as other national and international organisations and regulatory authorities.

Schneider Electric and the Pacific Pilotage Authority also joined the initiative this month.

Member success was recently demonstrated when the Hamilton Port Authority awarded its 2013 Environmental Excellence award to initiative member, McKeil Marine, for its dedication to environmental stewardship.
