Chiles Coquimbo considers concession

The Chilean port of Coquimbo will shortly be offered as a concession as a means of expanding its working area and thereby allowing it to more easily accommodate larger vessels.

The existing 348 metre quay needs a 120 m extension and port access requires dredging to enable facilities to fully load a 50,000 dwt vessel. Tender documents will be available as of November, with a target of tripling current volumes by 2015.
