Decision imminent on Salaverry concession

In the running are two companies: the local Consorcio Transportadora Salaverry, which is made up of Tramarsa and Naviera Tramarsa (part of the Grupo Romero) and Notable Category S.A., which belongs to Turkey’s Yildrim Group.

The project, which was declared of interest to the Peruvian state in August 2017, prompted ProInversión to issue a tender, following an indication by Yildrim that it would enter a bid. Such tenders in Peru require bids from two parties to guarantee a competitive process.

According to the rules, the best overall financial bid should secure the concession, which means offering the most competitive tariff discounts to users. The amount of investment pledged will also be taken into account.

The concessionaire will have to handle both container and dry bulk traffic, and also put in place the necessary infrastructure to despatch reefer boxes and agribulk.
