DP World excluded from Callao North concession

Perus judicial system has ruled in favour of an appeal by the Ministry of Transport against an injunction filed by DP World, which had sought to be included in the tender for the concession to operate the new North Quay at Callao.

DP World has lost its battle to bid for a second Callao base

DP World already has the concession to operate the South Quay at the port.

The ruling has allowed the state body, Proinversión, overseeing the concession process to be able to complete pre-qualification of bidders. The definitive tender document was due to be released on March 25 and HPH, APM Terminals and MSC are all expected to enter the process.

Earlier, in February, port unions had called off a strike that lasted 21 days, having settled their differences with the port authority in respect of future privatisation.
