Eten port to be privately funded

Advisor to Peru’s Ministry of Transport & Communications, Mario Arbulú Miranda, has mooted the idea of private investment to build the proposed Terminal Marítimo at Eten port.

Addressing the local Chamber of Commerce, he said that it was important to leverage experiences at similar projects. There were, he noted, seven private sector port concessions now operating in Peru and a broadly similar approach would suit Eten.

The initial phase would require finance of $233m, followed by a further $343m in phase two.
